Travertine

TravertineTravertine is a sedimentary rock just like limestone. The main difference is that travertine is formed near a water source. The trapped water forms pores and cavities in the stone during compression, giving rise to open texture.

Mazista supplies travertine where these naturally-occurring imperfections have been “filled” with stone sediment and an acrylic mixture to create an even plane, as well as “unfilled” travertine.

Unfilled travertine is typically used for wall cladding where the decorative effect of these imperfections can be optimised. Travertine comes in a variety of colours and patterns, although most tend to be beige and creamy.
